Well i just got my hair done today, single plaits hopefully it will last till august, it took 4hours in total which is still pretty quick considering how fine they are. I think i might plait my hair for the rest of the year because i not sure if i'll be able to comb it after august! haha!
The style is especially for my prom on saturday as i have now finished college! wooo! so i'll be posting some of my prom pics too next week :)

I plan to alternate between flat twist outs and straight hair untill I get my hair re-braided

New Style and NERD :)

Just a quick post, just took some photos on my laptop so i thought i show you my latest transitioning style..

I've just clipped in about 5 tracks of weave and straighted the front section of my hair with my GHDs. I'll probably do this for two-three weeks, washing only once a week and re-straightening the front to blend it in.

Oh and I have a geography exam tomorrow! Wish me luck! And after I'm going to see N.E.R.D YES! N.E.R.D! Live wooooooooop! Can't wait hahah what a after exam treat! LOL i hope my hair doesn poof up in the crowd...

almost 6 months post!

On 17th of June I will be 6months post relaxer! woop! I've just taken out my braids which was a bit of a disaster since I 'decided' not to comb out my hair dry! what a mistake. Anyway the lesson is, dont attempt to wash your hair if it still has knots in :(

Now my camera is still broken so I can't really take any pics apart from on my laptop which come out really dark :( so hopefully i'll get it fixed and i'll put some new pics up soon.

I dont wanna talk too quickly or anything, but my hair is doing well so far, not much breakage, its not really dry. The only thing now is finding styles hat blend both textures cos im really trying to avoid straightening my hair.

I've got three exams left untill I COMPLETELY finish 6th form! Can't wait!

a little update

Thought I'd give a hair and general update :)

I'm 5months into my transition to natural! wooo! Currently I've got my hair in braids, I put them in the second week of April and I think I'll be taking them out some time in June. The only thing is I may get tempted to relax my hair which I really don't want. Or I'll straighten it which my damage my new growth. I really don't think I can handle short hair so I think even if I do chop, I'll keep braiding my hair until its at a length I feel comfortable with. Oh and the photo is my current hair style and I had fake eyelashes on :)

Got my A-level exams next month and one next week so wish me luck peoples :) but once there over I be free to do what ever I want! Looool

Quick update

So far I'm almost 4months into transitioning :) (and i can still comb my hair! lol) I'm not gonna lie I have thought about relaxing several times but my goal is still to go natural. Within the next week or two I'm gonna get some braids and get them re-done as needed until august. Then I'm thinking to get a press and cut maybe or just stick with the braids but we'll see... I will definitely be a long term transitioner so I don't think I'll be 'fully' natural until January or December

Here are some ladies I've been watching on YouTube that are quite inspirational as naturals...

Naked Review

I recently found a new line of products called Naked. They are all natural well 97% and dont have any sulfates or parabens. http://www.nakedbodycare.co.uk/hair-cid224.html

Naked Shine Hydrating Shampoo - normal to dry hair

To shine and dazzle, dry to normal hair needs to be smooth and moisturised.... just perfect for fingers to run through.
Honey targets those troublesome dried out areas of hair and keeps it hydrated, whilst Mallow extract helps to soften and smooth.

I really love this shampoo this is the best SLS free shampoo I have used, it foams up really well just like a regular shampoo and doesn't leave my hair feeling stripped :)

Naked Shine Hydrating Conditioner - normal to dry hair

To shine like a diamond, dry to normal hair needs to be smooth and moisturised - just perfect for fingers to run through....

Buttermilk is renowned for its amazing softening properties and Green Tea extract helps add sheen and elasticity to your hair cuticle. Topped up with Black Tea extract, this conditioner has a bit of a glossy reputation.

This conditioner actually leaves my hair glossy, I have been using it as a leave in. It has a diffent scent from the shampoo which is a little odd but it does its job. I think I will keep it for co-washes or as a leave in, as its not really moisturising enough to be a DC.

I have also purchased the Naked Rescue Repairing Hair Treatment - frizzy, damaged hair and plan to use it as a DC, its pretty good so far but i've only used it once so I dont feel I can review it yet.

So I'm Going Natural...

After lots of thought I have decided to go natural! I've been thinking about why I relax my hair and to be honest I'm not sure why i do. In fact i prefer curly hair not straight and I know that Afro type hair is not the same at curly hair in other races but there are so many ways you can wear your hair natural- and now I have awesome straighteners which will work work wonders on my hair so I can wear it straight too :) I have nothing against relaxed hair because mine is relaxed right now and almost ALL of the ladies in my family relax. One of my main reasons for going natural is that I am really fed up with relaxing my hair, it really is getting me nowhere and all the breakage, spilt ends and problems it causes i just don't see the point any more.
The only thing I'm upset with is the fact that i was 6months post and I relaxed! I just wish I made this decision a bit earlier :( would have saved me some time but oh well.
So now I'm just working on finding out more about natural hair and how to care for it. Oh and finding some 'hair-spriation'. As for the big chop, i will do it eventually but I plan to transition for at least 1yr or more

Here's a list of the blogs that have helped me to decide go natural:

and my fav http://maneandchic.blogspot.com/

What are your future hair plans? Do you plan to go natural at some point or stay relaxed?

Mane n Tail Moisturizer Texturizer!

I bought this product last week and tried it out on Sunday. I really liked it, I thought I would anyway because i really like the brand. Also, I read quite a few reviews on it before buying it and it wasn't as thick as I thought it would be which was good.

The product states that it has:
• Exclusive protein enriched formula fortifies the hair shaft preventing breakage and split ends
• Natural oils that nourish and condition the hair and scalp
• Essential moisturizing corrects the drying effect caused by sun, wind and use of bleach and peroxide lighteners
• Keeps hair tangle free, soft and manageable for grooming and braiding (haha grooming)
• Effective as a leave-in or rinse out conditioner based on hair type

I left it on for around 30mins without heat and applied a little as a leave in and it really did leave my hair soft and manageable. It really didn't feel like a protein conditioner and i don't think it has much protein in it. I will definitely be adding this to my list of staples :)

Did i mention...

For my 18Th Birthday last year my lovely friends bought me ghd straighteners! I was sooo shocked! They are amazing, here is a pic:

I really recommend them they work wonders on my hair, they heat up really quickly and even allowed me to look freshly relaxed when i had months of new growth. So far I've just been using then once a week on wash day or after. The only con i would say is the price, they are really expensive around £100 i think.

I'm so happy with them all I need now is a case

Beautiful ends = Long term relationship?

hahaha! That sounds funny! I'm talking about herbal essences
In the UK you can't get the Long term relationship line from HE anywhere, but then i heard about beautiful ends while I was on hairlista. So I went down to superdrugs and found it. So now I'm thinking that maybe beautiful ends is the UK version of Long term relationship in the US.
So far I've tried it once on wet hair after washing which was quite good but i think it needs to be watered down a little because its soo thick. Oh and on dry hair i think its good for braid outs
